Sr. Project Manager

Our client, a higher education company, is looking for a contract to hire Senior Project Manager. This will be on-site at their location in West LA and you will be working full-time hours.

You will be reporting directly to the Director of Design, and as the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects to pre-determine timelines and budgets, and being accountable for all marketing projects in production. You will manage traffic coordinators and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager will have primary responsibility for and oversight of the job tracking system; all marketing jobs will be initiated by and closed by the Senior Project Manager. This position will work closely with the Director of Design and Marketing Managers to ensure that marketing jobs or projects are on schedule and on budget. You will provide an estimate of time required to complete each job, and clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.

Project/Production Management (80%):
- Manage production from initiation to closure, directing and re-directing resources as needed.
- Maintain accountability for project deliverables.
- Set timelines, allocate resources, open and close jobs, and ensure that work is completed on time and on budget.
- Work with key stakeholders to complete projects, outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, timing, and budget.
- Estimate effort for each task, and ensure that production stays within the parameters of estimated time and budget.
- Provide a project schedule, and estimate when each task will be performed.
- Manage project scope by ensuring that any changes to scope are documented and approved.
- Help secure approvals for creative output from key stakeholders.
- Work with Director of Design to determine if external consultants will be needed to complete projects. If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources. Define work; gather bids; order Purchase Orders; schedule jobs and follow-up.
- Manage budgets for relevant marketing jobs, monitor ongoing costs, engage freelancers, oversee vendors to ensure activities remain on budget and deliverables are met.
- Ensure all project documents are safely archived following project completion.
- Manage creative assets or create repository of assets.
- Manage and oversee job-tracking software.
- Coordinate the resources necessary for successful execution of digital projects.

Management and Communication (20%):
- Supervise one or more Traffic Coordinators to ensure project processes and procedures are carried out according to schedule and plan.
- Conduct performance appraisals and foster a high level of performance through coaching and mentoring.

Requirements:
- BA/BS in related field, such as Project Management, Business, Finance, or Marketing or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Five or more years’ work experience in project and/or marketing management.
- Outstanding organizational, strategic and analytical skills to set priorities and manage multiple projects and perform efficiently and courteously in a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating workload, conflicting and competing priorities, and frequent distractions and interruptions.
- Demonstrated familiarity with project management tools and software.
- Demonstrated proficiency and capabilities with personal computers and software, and the web. Working knowledge of standard computer office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, access, PowerPoint or other productivity software.
