Sr. Product Manager - Oncology Marketing

Global pharmaceutical company is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join their oncology team.

he Sr/Product Manager (PM) is responsible for supporting the strategic development and tactical implementation of marketing programs designed to maintain brand awareness and contribute to achievement of business objectives for assigned product.
This job assists in designing, implementing and evaluating the marketing activities of assigned product(s) within a given product line; assists in the review of marketing programs, monitoring performance progress and implementing changes to programs as needed; assists in the analysis of market data to identify key segment drivers, growth opportunities and business threats; works in conjunction with agencies, and internal business partners to align communications and strategies across the brand’s target audiences and to ensure regulatory/legal requirements are met.
The PM may focus efforts on developing strategies and tactics for one or more of the following key areas depending on brand:
• Professional/HCP (focus)
• Product contract strategies and execution when applicable (focus)
• Managed markets/Key Accounts (focus)
• Patient/Caregiver/Consumer (secondary)
• Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development including advisory boards, speaker bureau and speaker engagements (optional)
1. Plan, identify, develop and produce promotional materials, programs, and activities needed to support brand strategies in order to meet financial goals and expectations. This includes working effectively with outside agencies and consultants to meet expected project objectives and holding them accountable to agreed upon standards. 30%
2. Develop project and tactic assessments and valuations (ROI) that leverage analytics and research to identify successes. This includes working with market research, sales operations, and business analytics to identify and implement metrics to gain market insights and measure performance on brand initiatives and programs. 20%
3. Participate in Medical, Legal, and Regulatory approval process for promotional programs. 20%
4. Monitor products, marketplace, and competitor trends and issues to anticipate/identify threats and opportunities. Make recommendations and develops tactics to respond to threats and opportunities. 10%
5. Maintain effective relationships and work with commercial partners to communicate and ensure alignment on strategy, messaging and execution within scope of projects. 10%
6. Work with finance in managing brand forecast and contribute to demand planning (S&OP) process. 5%
7. Actively contribute to the development of the annual and 5 year brand business plan and budget 5%
Effective management of assigned portion of budget has direct impact on bottom line through expense management and budget allocations. This position may manage vendors which may include speakers bureau and ad agency. Manages the corresponding budget. Independently accountable for all areas of responsibility listed earlier.
Product Manager has a direct impact on the department/brand performance, achieved primarily through personal execution
Required
• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)
• 5+years relevant professional experience with 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience.
• Understanding of PhRMA and Regulatory/Legal guidelines for healthcare provider interactions to ensure programs adhere to outlined Compliance guidelines
• Experience working with and directing agencies and strategic vendors
• Analytical skills including ability to apply understanding of market research processes to develop deep customer insight
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written including presentation skills
• Ability to partner with internal stakeholders including analytics/market research, sales leaders, sales training, managed markets, medical and regulatory
• Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills
• Strong problem resolution skills
• Financial/budgetary experience
• Travel is estimated at 30% of time, including some weekend travel

MBA degree
Work experience in applicable therapeutic area is preferred (i.e. Oncology, Epilepsy)
The role would involve working on HCP promotion and working closely on tactical pull through with the sales and managed markets teams.
Ideally, the candidate would have both some marketing experience (APM/PM/Agency and sales management/analytics experience (DM/Sales operations/Sales analytics)
