Senior Media Strategist - URGENT NEED!

Our client in downtown SF is urgently seeking a Senior Media Strategist. This position is a key role within the Planning team; building multi-channel media plans, participating in brainstorms and creating advertising programs to meet Client goals. This individual will identify products and partners, recommend media mix, and provide success metrics following each effort. This role requires high attention to detail, proven experience in digital channels, experience with more traditional channels (print, television, radio) and a passion for discovering identifying where the industry is headed next. The SMS reports into the VP of Yield and Digital Revenue Operations.


  • Partner with the research team to identify client customer characteristics and translate those profiles into actionable communication strategies

  • Work with client leads to establish budget allocations and allocate across communication channels including; social, desktop, video, mobile, newspaper, radio and others

  • Serves as a bridge between the operational structure of internal client and agency 

  • Own relationships with key media partners both inside and outside of corporation 

  • Craft clear and informative briefs (and/or RFP’s) to communicate the needs of our clients to partners and assemble multi-channel strategies that can deliver against those needs

  • Leverage syndicated research tools to inform our recommendations

  • Inform the implementation of Use programmatic approaches to inform media buying and audience development

  • Produce innovative, accurate media plans

  • Communicate the benefits, effectiveness and rationale of proposals to clients

  • Formulate strategies for measuring branding, direct response performance and/or transactional results for the Advertiser based on their budget and goals

  • Work across departments to ensure flawless execution and fulfillment of communications plans.  

  • Serve as a functional expert resource for the Planning and Ad Ops team on such products as audience and content retargeting, programmatic, viewability, mobile or other subject matter expertise.

  • Report, optimize and analyze campaign performance using Moat Analytics, DFP delivery reports and 3rd party reporting.


  • 3-4 years of experience in Digital Media Planning, Pricing, or Inventory Management.

  • Proven ability to build integrated media plans across desktop, mobile, rich media, video, etc.

  • Ad Ops (DCM) and ad trafficking experience preferred.

  • Practical experience of the digital ecosystem, CPM/CPC/CPL/CPDownload, order management (Dart Sales Manager), Data Management Platforms, ad serving, native and audience targeting are preferred.

  • Experience with ComScore, Nielsen, Scarborough, Kantar Media, Moat Pro or other comparable industry research tools is required.   

  • Interest in programmatic buying solutions and/or a proven history negotiating rates

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large Sales and diverse audiences.

  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and analytical skills.

  • Experience working in a high pressure, high demand, and fast-paced growth environment.

  • BA required
