The role of the Sr. Project Manager for Business Intelligence for New Products will use market research methods, design, data collection and analysis to provide the necessary market understanding to drive evidence-based strategic and tactical organizational decisions and the generation of insights.
The role will provide holistic, insight-driven consultation to all levels of internal stakeholders using market, portfolio and brand-level market research and information. The position will be an important member of the Early Brand Core Teams.
Importantly, the contractor must be able to fulfill the role, providing ‘Director-level’ support and have the ability to work autonomously. Prior launch and category experience as well as experience working on global/joint venture partnerships is key. Additionally, extensive experience with market research methodologies is critical as this role will represent the Company perspective across all projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide timely and actionable market analyses and solutions to drive key early commercialization decisions and accelerate the development, and prioritization, of insights.

 Design and implement market research to answer business questions based on comprehensive integration of primary, secondary and competitive intelligence sources.
 Position requires expertise in available primary methodologies, including discrete choice/conjoint quantitative methods to inform product forecasts, secondary and CI data sources, and analytics.
 Collaborate with New Products’ Excellence and Launch team throughout process of generation of business questions and hypotheses to be tested.
 Role will require identification and organization of customer and market insights and will serve as insights ‘owner’ for the brands.
 Position requires the ability to synthesize multi-sourced complex information, apply analytical capabilities and utilize strong interpersonal and communications skills in an effective manner.
 Must have strong ability to orchestrate and execute a large number of projects while looking to continuously improve processes, quality and efficiencies.
 Position demands a ‘problem solving’ orientation.
 Keep apprised of new methodologies and research approaches.
 Provide concise analyses that go beyond a presentation of the facts to include a discussion of the associated business implications and recommended course of action.

Demonstrate strong business acumen, excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly express point view using both written and verbal communications.

 Excellent writing, presentation and project management skills required.

Develop and sustain close working relationships with key stakeholders in New Products’ Excellence, Global New Products, JV/alliance partners and other functional groups with involvement in the early development of new compounds.

 Position requires proven success working cross functionally and partnering with global colleagues to achieve shared goals.
 Ability to work effectively in an alliance/joint venture commercial model is important.


Job Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree required; MS/MBA preferred.
 Minimum of 15 years working within the Business Intelligence/Market Research function.
 Experience working in Pre-launch Marketing/New Product’s Planning.
 Strong understanding of primary research methodologies
 Fluency in the use of a wide range of secondary data sources including, but not limited to: sales, prescription and promotional audits, as well as general business and pharmaceutical industry data sources.
 Demonstrated understanding of early stage drug development concepts/process.
 Immunology or biologic experience required [RA, asthma, dermatology]
 Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
