The Senior Manager of Social Media Support works closely with the Head of Social Media to develop effective social media strategies to achieve the overall goals of the Strategy and Marketing group. This person will lead a team to effectively execute these strategies.

The top goal for the Social Media Support team will be to discover, build, engage and sustain a strong network of influential followers in our target markets, providing an active, accessible online presence and voice for this company. This person will also play a role in the development and execution of a social media training program to serve the organization.

The Senior Manager of Social Media for Support collaborates across the organization to support the work of various groups looking to leverage social media to attain their goals.

Major responsibilities for this role and the Support team will be supporting individuals and groups in their use of social media. Groups may include Executives, Subject Matter Experts/SMEs, Public Affairs, Sales and outside Partners (mostly not for profit organizations). This work will include blog strategy and collaboration with blog and content creation teams at various levels throughout the company.


SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB

Dollar responsibilities (budget and/or revenue): Manage budget in terms of social media research and consulting spend.

Supervisory responsibilities (direct and indirect): Manage team members to execute strategy to achieve goals. Liaise with representatives from across the organization group in North America, which may include Executives, Subject Matter Experts/SMEs, Public Affairs and external Partners.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (Knowledge and experience necessary to do job)

Related work experience
• MBA/MA/BA and 3+ years of marketing experience in a professional setting
• Strong social media marketing experience required
• Knowledge of effective practices for integrating social media across the organization
• Experience leading/working on teams
• Knowledge of the education marketplace
• Management experience
• Creative thinker
• Data-driven professional
• Supporting executives and subject matter experts on social media
• Development of effective partner relationships on blogs and social channels
• Development of effective strategies and programs to support sales on social channels

Skills
• Self-motivated professional always looking to raise the bar for team performance

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work quickly but with precision and accuracy
