Our client, a manufacturer of baby products, seeks a Sr. Manager of Creative and Packaging. This position reports directly to the VP of Marketing and is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Creative Service Department, working on the company's two main brands. The internal creative team consists of structural packaging, graphic and production designers. While this position resides under the Marketing team, the role is a critical part of the product development function and is charged with driving innovation in all aspects of packaging (process, structure, graphics and copy) and creative communications (presentations, online, press and trade) to help the two brands attain growth objectives. Individual Will Be Responsible For: o Aligning closely with VP of Marketing, Product/Brand Managers and Product Development teams to deliver strategic brand direction to the Creative team. o Driving the creative process and directing team members in all aspects of packaging design and development. o Planning and managing to a budget balancing internal and external resources. o Exploring and implementing new technologies including new software and hardware critical to developing skills and product efficiencies. o Maintaining up to date knowledge of industry standards through research and direct contact with vendors and industry experts. o Managing the packaging development process (from initiating design schedule start to final mechanical artwork turnover) for multiple categories of business across brands ensuring market relevant and compelling packaging is developed. o Managing design team to support brand and strategic initiatives including but not limited to, video productions, website design, etc. o Managing and reviewing project status on a weekly basis with cross-functional team members ensuring timelines and goals are attained. o Developing and delivering compelling materials for key presentations such as working reviews, line reviews, retailer meetings and toy/juvenile fair events. o Foster and manage outside vendor partnerships for materials, copywriting, printing, photography, videography bringing consistency/dimension to brand/line/category. o Managing, coaching/developing and motivating a team of designers with a primary focus on packaging. Cultivating and empowering team to take initiative and ownership for their work and its real impact on the business mission.
