Sr. Interaction Designer

Supporting lead UX designers, the UX Designer role will be involved with definition and design for user interfaces for new hardware and software product platforms, helping envision how people will experience the products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired and refined.

You will tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs.
Collaborating with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process you will work on concept development, information architecture, user flows and wireframes, mockups, prototypes and design communications materials.
At each stage, you will anticipate and advocate users need, ensuring that the product experience are meaningful and delightful.

Responsibilities
Create new designs, including (but not limited to) user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
Communicate design intent to teams.
Clearly rationalize and justify design work and advocate for users’ needs.
Collaborate effectively on a team and be willing to explore all options.
Design is grounded in constraints, which serve as boundaries to work within and barriers to creatively overcome.
The craft is knowing when to conform and when to push the edge.
Work closely with user researchers to better inform designs through users’ point of view.
Deliver the designs for each release by following through on details with the Engineering team and driving fit-and-finish polish.

Minimum Qualifications
6+ years experience in UX design on web and mobile platforms
BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, Computer Science, or a related field
Proven track record of designing and shipping successful software design experiences for multiple device types and contexts.
Strong core interaction design skills, knowledge of the user-centered design methodologies, and a good understanding of usability.
Fluency with visual and interaction design tools as well as understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and ability to work within a highly technical environment; good understanding of technical requirements and limitations.

Preferred Qualifications
MA/MS in Design or a related field or 6 years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated experience designing usable interfaces.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Good sense and understanding of visual design.
Prototyping or front-end development skills.
Experience collaborating with user researchers, content strategists, product managers, and engineers.
Design leadership skills.
