Sr. Information Designer

Our client is looking for a Sr. Information Designer in Downtown DC. Are you a fanatic about visualizing data in creative, accessible ways? You think a powerful infographic can change conventional wisdom? Bad design drives you crazy? Oh, and one more thing: You want to channel your design talent to promote public policies that strengthen free enterprise?? We know: There aren’t many of you out there. Are you a whip-smart designer and manager who combines creative savvy with a knack for finding the core idea of any piece of research?? If so, please show your interest and apply!!!!

Primary responsibilities:
**Translate research into compelling digital (and some print) visuals, including infographics, charts, slide decks, one-pagers, pamphlets, Prezis, maps, and gifs. **Works to turn data points into memorable narratives.
**Manages a small team of production and graphic designers.
**Works closely with the organizations website team to produce a variety of original materials for online and social media.
**Helps develop and strengthen the brand across all media.
**Collaborates with public policy scholars to present more of their work in visual forms.

Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience. • Proven record of satisfying demanding clients. • Ability to work under tight deadlines. • A keen interest in current events, public policy, and the organizations mission. • Strong portfolio of both print and digital work. • Passion for simplifying complex concepts without dumbing them down. • Ability to work with data-intensive content. • Genuine desire to coach others to higher performance. • Deep competency with relevant design and data visualization tools: Photoshop Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Prezi, Tableau, etc. • Knowledge of WordPress and website design is a plus. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Flexible, organized, and enthusiastic personality.
