Grant Administrator

The position will support pre and post award federal research grant administration.   

Top candidates will have administered contracts and/or grants with federal agencies, universities, for-profit pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and/or foundations. Research/Grants administrators for a hospital, medical university, or pharmaceutical company are likely to succeed in this assignment. Experience with clinical trials and/or clinical research agreements is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Reviews and processes funding applications, Reviews financial terms and conditions for subcontract agreements between KP and external research sponsors; Ensures appropriate information, reports, and compliance documentation are provided to meet government and funding agency requirements and needs. Sets up grants and contracts in the People Soft Project Costing and Grants modules. Prepares billing events and reviews monthly invoices, summary financial reports, and other reports required by funding agencies according to sponsor requirements. Monitors research accounts to prevent over expenditure. Responds to requests for information, provides consulting assistance and interacts regularly with physicians, investigators, research staff and leaders of funding agencies. Represents KP in responding promptly to inquiries from federal contracts and grants officers, provides information (budget clarification and justifications) and documentation to meet their needs and federal requirements. Maintains a strong working relationship with Northern California general accounting, other regional departments and other Region's research staffs. Responsible for monthly production of ad-hoc management reports.

 

Education:

 Bachelors’ Degree Required

Required Skills:

5+ years’ experience in Grants administration

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Demonstrate a customer service focus. Ability to analyze complex issues and determine appropriate course of action. Organized and detail oriented.

Desired Skills:

Experience with People Soft; Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
