Sr. Financial Copywriter

Our awesome Fortune 500 financial client in NYC seeks a Sr. Copywriter with great project management skills!

*This is a temporary role to run through April 2015 (or longer).

The Sr Copywriter will write, proofread, and edit copy for multi-media collateral. The role requires a bachelor's degree and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with the wealth management industry and a variety of communication concepts, practices, and procedures is also required. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The ideal candidate thinks strategically, can direct others, yet also plans and executes tactical actions by producing effective communications within tight deadlines. Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously, working well under pressure in integral to success in the role.

The following details specific responsibilities for this role:

• Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to identify communications needs proactively, gain input/feedback, and manage expectations and influence direction.
• Build relationships with key internal partners and integrate work in a matrixed corporate environment.
• Develop key messaging for projects (building on enterprise and line of business messages and in coordination with other functional areas of the company).
• Identify communications content to aid in messaging development. This would include competitive intelligence, industry news, thought leadership, and legislative issues.
• Leverage enterprise wide processes and framework for communication to add maximum value for the business and the company.

Minimum requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of copywriting experience.
• Deep knowledge and experience in the wealth management industry.
• Documented portfolio and record of achievement in project management.
• Ability to think strategically, yet also plan and execute tactical actions to support business goals by producing effective communications within tight deadlines.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously, working with grace under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and guide numerous stakeholders to support strategy.
• Ability to lead multiple projects, setting clear goals and deadlines, as well as driving integration among multiple partners and functions.
• Able to understand complex relationships, interdependencies and their impact on the media, government, clients, associates and shareholders.
• Skilled in asking the right questions, thinking differently, developing new ideas and fresh approaches to old ideas.
• Self-starter who works quickly to solve problems and demonstrates initiative, plus proactively contributes ideas and solutions showing conceptual and process thinking abilities.
• Strong client-relationship and networking skills, showing tact and diplomacy.
• High-quality standards with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, displaying poise and professionalism.
