Sr. Email Marketing Associate

The primary role for the Senior Associate, Relationship Marketing Operations is to lead the implementation of e-mail or direct mail campaigns in our client’s marketing / program strategies by:

− Directly overseeing and executing the designed campaigns including helping coordinate eventual modification and optimization of those in-market programs.
− Architecting the appropriate campaign management logic and assets, as well as associated data management & integration approaches
-- Working closely with third-party providers to facilitate proper execution of all campaigns in accordance with industry best practices

In doing so, the Senior Associate will work closely with Account and Project Management Teams and be a key resource in ensuring that our marketing campaigns have maximum effectiveness and positive impact for our client and their target customers.

The Senior Associate also simultaneously supports multiple projects in a number of verticals. The majority of the efforts will be focused on managing RM campaign execution efforts across primarily the online (e.g. e-mail) channel with some offline (direct mail) channel work gradually increasing. In essence, this role is responsible for the proper execution of client programs relative to the client’s / brand’s goals and appropriate / preferred marketing platforms.

The Senior Associate will be seen as the key person responsible for campaign implementation and ongoing governance. As such the candidate will be responsible for:


• CAMPAIGN PLANNING & ENABLEMENT: Operationalizing the campaign design into the appropriate systems or e-mail service provider (ESP) platforms (e.g. Exact Target, Silverpop, SmartSource, etc.) including campaign technologies / platforms consulting (requirements through recommendations and execution), design and codification of business / decision rules, asset management and taxonomy implementation;

• SUCCESSFUL ONGOING EXECUTION: Perform daily reconciliations, execution, analysis, troubleshooting, etc. to ensure proper campaign deliverability

• MEASUREMENT & ANALYSIS GUIDANCE: Working with A&O team to ensure we can support the overall reporting and learning plans by coordinating the development of the appropriate data capture, measurement and learning plans for each program;

• CAMPAIGN EFFECTIVENESS & OPTIMIZATION: Post-launch work with the A&O and Client Partner(s) leads to assess the campaign outcomes and develop optimization recommendations which might include modifications to the business rules, campaign logic and / or asset design;

Manage the development of the overall campaign enablement for key accounts in the following three (3) key areas:
• Relationship Marketing (RM) Campaign Strategy
o Leading the translating of program strategies into campaign flows, logic (e.g. business / decision rules) and specific communications / messaging strategy appropriate for a given target segmentation.
• RM & Campaign Management Execution
o Guiding the development and implementation of the campaign logic, assets and business rules into the appropriate campaign or marketing management system including both offline (direct mail, call center, etc.) and online (e.g. web, e-mail)
o Coordinate the appropriate testing to ensure the campaign is operational and set against the overall program strategy and functional / technical specifications
• Campaign Effectiveness and Optimization
o Post-launch work with the A&O and Partner leads to assess the campaign outcomes and make campaign optimization recommendations which might include modifications to the business rules, campaign logic and / or assets.

• 2-5 years’ experience with ESP tools (ExactTarget preferred), database, and campaign management tools/platforms
• Expert in email marketing concepts(best practices, analytics, deliverability concepts)
• Basic knowledge of SQL and HTML
• Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven environment
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively with others
• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in communications, marketing, advertising, or related field
