Sr Copywriter

Duties:
• Work with Integrated Communications Management and Product Marketing to understand customer segments, go-to-market strategies, unique selling proposition, customer research, and competitive advantages to create compelling campaigns and messaging that persuasively convey the value of Illumina products and delivers against marketing objectives
• Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for internal and external stakeholders
• Communicate complex scientific and clinical data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to the target audience
• Develop creative campaign concepts and write persuasive copy, working closely with the manager of creative communications, brand management, art directors, designers, and the production team as applicable
• Attend and participate in meetings as required, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Participate in brainstorming sessions with other members of the creative team and outside agencies in order to develop ideas for campaign concepts, visuals, copy and videos
• Support the adoption of best practices for effective concept and messaging development and measurement
• Help to maintain brand standards/platform, ensure internal communications are aligned through all media channels and brand standards/values are visible company-wide
• Leverage Acrolinx system (content quality management system), provide proofreading support, and work with designated external proofreaders to ensure consistency and excellence in messaging execution

Skills:
• Minimum of 5 years copywriting experience in an advertising agency or in-house corporate setting, working on integrated campaigns and launches (life science, medical marketing, or healthcare industry preferred)
• Proven advanced concept and copywriting expertise for integrated, multi-channel campaigns with a current portfolio of this work
• Adept at working within and developing brand guidelines and messaging standards
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
• Experience working effectively independently, and as a team
• Accustomed to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Presentation skills to pitch and rationalize creative concepts and campaigns

Education
• B.A. in English, Communications, Journalism, or other relevant major
