Sr. Copywriter

Growing agency has an immediate need for a Sr. Copywriter to add to their team. Car experience, print and broadcast TV is a must. Brand work is a plus as they will be working on the brand/national team.

The Copywriter is responsible for creating innovative concepts and translating them into finished copy for direct mail, print, television, and collateral material under Creative Director supervision. They work as part of an agency team to achieve the client’s objectives through creative imagery and effective message strategies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures all work is of the highest possible quality and maintains agency's commitment to changing customer behavior through disruptive ideas at all points of contact.
• Works closely with art director, account, and production personnel as a team member on assigned accounts to produce effective direct marketing themes, campaigns, etc.
• Maintains consistently high standards of writing which will enhance the agency-client relationship and deliver results as defined in the Creative Brief.
• Helps develop and guide creative ideas based on input from the Creative Director, client, account staff, and personal research.
• Monitors the progress of assigned projects through each phase of development, i.e., layout, production, media, and research.
• Maintains a reasonable library of own direct marketing reference material relating to assigned clients.
• Submits copy to the Creative Director for review and comment.
• Assures accuracy, completeness, and neatness of own copy from initial submission through final copy and type proofs.
• Meets copy deadlines, or secures advance approval if additional time is needed.
• Takes and keeps reasonably thorough file notes and minutes of meetings/phone calls for own reference.
• Contributes ideas that generate added client activity and lead to more client success beyond normally scheduled projects.
• Participates in client-agency meetings at the agency, when appropriate.
• Displays professional courtesy to clients and co-workers; is considerate of their work schedules.
• Maintain and support all company standards as specified within the Quality Management System.
• Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to requirements, processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

• Ability to demonstrate solid writing and grammar skills.
• Outstanding command of the English language.
• Ability to present and sell ideas effectively.
• Ability to talk about our expertise and our work both internally and externally.
• Ability to listen and understand client feedback and feedback from internal critiques.
• Ability to inform and drive synergy across communication platforms.
• Ability to successfully translate ideas into other media (web, direct mail, showroom, print, TV and promotions).
• Ability to create and execute your ideas in an efficient, organized way.
• Ability to evaluate what ideas/concepts are valid and those that are not worth pursuing.
• Ability to delegate work.
• Strong leadership, communication and team building skills.
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledgeable of branding and conceptual development.
• Knowledge of related Mac word processing/layout programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Five to Eight years agency experience preferred.
