Sr. Copywriter

Highly talented senior marketing writer who creates bold, strategic, and persuasive marketing content that furthers this company's position as a health care leader. A mix of consumer and B2B marketing experience preferred, and the ability to strategize content across a multitude of formats a must. Journalism background a plus.

You’ll join a team of skilled content experts, working closely with internal business partners and clients to ensure we’re developing innovative content while maintaining our brand and voice standards. This is a full-time, onsite position (40 hours; Monday through Friday) located in Burbank, California. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, paid vacation/holidays, and more.

Responsibilities
Write effective, compelling marketing copy for all audiences
• Create outward-facing, benefit-driven digital content and marketing materials for members, consumers, and the business audience, including brokers and employers
• Develop high-volume, high-quality, error-free copy under tight deadlines
• Translate complicated ideas into easy-to-understand copy that follows our messaging, brand, voice, and style guidelines
• Collaborate heavily with our design team to produce visually compelling content
• Smoothly incorporate data into marketing copy and graphics to provide credible proof for claims
• Proven skill across a variety of mediums, including digital, print, graphics, and presentations

Create and manage high-level, innovative work
• Contribute strategically to the long-term vision and evolution of our Marketing Content Team
• As complex topics develop, assumes responsibility to be a marketing and content expert — changes as needs evolve
• Identify upcoming trends in health care and offer recommendations for translating these trends into projects that meet the needs of all audiences
• Initiate new project concepts of your own and partner with design to manage them through to completion
• Work closely with project managers, marketing services consultants, and internal business partners to understand their needs and translate them to effective marketing materials

Collaborate with internal business partners
• Skillfully influence peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas
• Ensure the customer/client/end user perspective is at forefront of all creative and design decisions and initiatives
• May periodically provide informal work guidance/direction to team members with less experience
• Set and meet deadlines in very busy department

Essential skills
• Must have experience as a senior-level marketing writer within a marketing environment
• Web experience a necessity
• Journalism background a plus
• Demonstrated ability to think visually and translate content into graphics (USA Today-style and infographics)
• Experience working openly and collaboratively with multiple editors, and in completing work both independently and as part of a creative team
• Proven ability to strategically consult and effectively manage business partners, stakeholders, and fellow creatives
• Experience managing projects from ideation through delivery
• Superior writing skills with the ability to create exciting, clear and persuasive messages
• Impeccable attention to detail, and strong creative, analytical, and communication skills
• The ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues in different roles, departments, and locations
• Medium to advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
