Senior Copywriter and Proofreader

As copywriter, writes copy related to retail initiatives as assigned by Senior Copy Manager. Deliverables may include in-store signage, direct mail, collateral material, brochures, digital content, weekly ads, email, social media, in-store radio and other marketing and advertising materials. This candidate will manage and track his/her own copy projects, while partnering closely with the Copy Manager and other members of the creative team to ensure compelling voice and brand consistency across retail content. Working As Proofreader, works with Creative Managers, Account Services, Copywriters, Designers, Production Artists and Print Production to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all projects.

Job responsibilities include proofreading materials for grammar, typography, composition and content, including ads, direct mail, print campaigns, stationery and digital for a variety of internal customers. Become proficient in CVS Pharmacy branding and corporate standards by keeping up-to-date with formats, legalities and style guides. Responsible for making sure internal customer work follows approved style guide standards, registration and trademark usage, and is legally compliant. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and have the ability to multi-task. Candidate must have flexibility in a rapidly changing environment and possess excellent organizational skills.

Candidate must have a solid background in Microsoft Office. Must have an understanding of typography and design. Must be well organized and able to communicate ideas clearly among team members and business partners. Must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple projects from start to finish. Must be adept at developing relationships, and communicating with internal and some external partners.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops concepts, writes and edits a wide variety of innovative, on-brand copy across multiple media forms, including print, web and radio. Works closely with internal creative leaders and team members to develop content ideas, create outlines and write copy for marketing communications programs.
2. Read copy against supplied copy to ensure final output is accurate and complete. Proof for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar. Ensure that business style, as well as in-house style guidelines, are followed. Mark up copy and designs using traditional proofreader marks to indicate to designers
