Sr Brand Strategist/Planner

We’re looking for a Sr. Brand Planner/Brand Strategist for a well known Pharmaceutical Marketing agency. This person would be responsible for partnership with the Brand Leadership Teams on market research, workshops, development of key brand insights and strategy, and brand/ customer knowledge amplification. We’re looking for someone who absolutely has a background in Pharma but also either comes from agency or in-house/client side as well.
This is a full time, on-site role in Cambridge, MA. We’re looking for someone who can start immediately and help out on a 3+ month contract. There is a very STRONG likelyhood for this to move to a perm position for the right person.
Job Responsibilities

Managing Market Research
• Write research plan with Account and Client teams, when needed
• At appropriate points, recommend specific types of research
• Identify research partners based on agreed upon criteria
• Manage research partners when needed
• Write/ comment on moderator guides and screening criteria
• Facilitate (act as the moderator) when needed

Manage Workshops
• Drive creation/ improvement of key workshops – i.e. positioning, insight mining, ideation/ brainstorming
• Facilitate workshops
• Summarize workshops with assumptions
Brand and Customer Knowledge Amplification
• Facilitate brand knowledge by continual gathering of disease, brand, and competitive information, when available
• Enhance brand knowledge through research recommendations and insight mining
• Create monthly reports to agency team regarding updated customer insights and knowledge
• Partner with the Brand Leadership Teams to determine additional way to enhance team awareness of Brand and Customer insights
Development of Key Brand Insights and Strategy
• Responsible for, social media monitoring, quantitative research, qualitative research, and emotive research
• Lead brand/ disease strategy and positioning development

Voice of the Customer
• Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and customer insights
• Author the Audience section of briefs with more than just demographic information

Qualifications
• 7- 10+ years’ pharmaceutical advertising experience with an emphasis on specialty/biotech drugs and, better still, oncology and/or orphan drugs
• As a thought-leader and strategist, actively engage in the latest advertising, digital and social media trends.
• Effective strategist either by own effort or directing others
• Excited about where the industry is heading, gets the impact of digital marketing
