We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate Senior Art Director to join our in-house creative team.
We are looking for a candidate with strong conceptual skills who demonstrates exceptional art direction, graphic design, print design, typography, grids and layout experience. An Art Director who can articulate ideas and clear brand direction to internal departments and external agencies.
Operating with a solid grasp of the Bloomingdale's brand, they will elevate and evolve the aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction. They will champion developing the aesthetic of the assigned “FOB’s”: Home, Men’s, Kids, Outlet & Registry.
Development of campaign branding, print catalogs, promotional editorial, print ads, new media and various promotional print materials.
Creation of formats and comprehensive layouts, moodboards, manipulation of references for presentation purposes, preparation of production ready files.
Implementation of efficient workflows, processes & design specs for production.
Engage with internal & external clients, creatives, photographers and pre-production teams in color management and retouching.
Mentor Art Directors and Designers on the team to inspire and help achieve consistent high quality creative outputs.
Research and maintain creative reference libraries for print design, typography, photography, fashion, home, food and culture trends.
Act as creative lead and department ambassador for each FOB.
Bachelor's Degree in Art & Design.
Minimum 6-8 years of related professional experience.
Impeccable design sensibility, typographic flair and thorough attention to detail.
Motivated, proactive, highly organized and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Self-motivated, yet team-oriented with a collaborative approach to creative & technology development.
Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to deadlines.
Must have demonstrated expertise in creating print marketing solutions, including catalogs & print editorial.
Knowledge and passion for fashion, interior design, food, registry and retail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and sense of accountability.
Team player and problem solver in a demanding deadline driven environment
Comfortable to conceptualize, present and produce projects from inception to completion independently and in collaboration with the Associate Creative Director a fast-paced environment.
Experience creating editorial for touchscreen devices
