Sports Style Social Media Specialist - Must be Sneakerhead

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for executing the social content plan for a Portland-based sportswear company. This person will work directly with the Digital and Brand Managers to define the social editorial calendar for key initiatives and manage the day-to-day social communities. He/She MUST have a proven passion for style and be well-versed in the vernacular of the sportswear/sports style consumer.

Key Accountabilities

MUST HAVE 1-2 YEARS EXCLUSIVE IN-HOUSE OR AGENCY SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATION EXPERIENCE. PROVEN TRACK RECORD MANAGING SOCIAL PLATFORMS, CALENDARS AND CREATING STRATEGY WITH NUMBERS TO PROVE IT.

• Effectively execute the social media strategy set forth by the Digital Manager

• Manage the day-to-day social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube)

• Partner with larger team to create effective editorial calendars and post plans specific to each social platform

• Coordinate US brand calendar with global calendar.

• Listen, respond, moderate and engage with consumers in key social communities

• Build a quality community based on brand strategy and guidelines

• Monitor and record discussion trends in order to identify opportunities to shape brand communications

• Report on qualitative and quantitative trends happening within social platforms

• Monitor social and digital trends, apply insights to social media strategy

• Mange social process documents including timelines, content calendars and status sheets


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of the social media ecosystem and understanding how to effectively

manage a social community

• Excellent writing and oral communication skills to develop relevant post plans

• Ability to understand the Brand Tone and translate that into effective social posts that drive engagement

• Advanced creative writing experience

• Excellent project management skills with ability to create project plans and manage through seamless execution

• Ability to work with a cross-functional team to guide development of editorial calendar

• Analytical expertise in assessing social media trends and campaign analysis

• Ability to adapt, learn quickly and be resourceful

• Experience using social media analytics (e.g. Sysosmos / Buddy Media / Facebook Insights / Twitter Ads)

• Passionate and knowledge of style, sneaker culture and industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel


Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):

• BA in marketing, advertising or related field required.

• Minimum two (2) years of social marketing experience, preferably with a sporting or

consumer goods company or equivalent account management experience at an agency

• 1-2 years agency Experience in social media is REQUIRED
