Software Quality Assurance Manager

Position Summary:

The individual should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. The SW Quality Manager will work closely with SW Test Engineers, QA Testers, Developers, Project Managers, Network Engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology.

Responsibilities:
• Define and maintain existing QA processes and work with engineering and program managers to ensure the QA efforts are embedded in the overall software development process
• Act as a player coach, managing and coordinating the work of a team of QA professionals, with both functional and automated testing backgrounds
• Be the voice for quality, and ensure our products and deliverables are thoroughly tested before release
• Collaborate with Technical Managers and Engineers throughout the organization to understand their projects and their needs
• Ensure that QA is represented in all sprint teams from the beginning to allow for timely development of test cases and test execution as part of our sprints
• Establish an efficient feedback loop between the QA team and development teams to ensure our QA staff is effectively utilized and continuously implementing process improvement
• Grow our testing automation strategy and work with other leaders across the company to establish best practices
• Advocate for ongoing test and release process improvements with our Technical Managers and DevOps
• Create, review and approve test plans including scope, test methodology and test case identification
• Provide ongoing metrics around testing and quality
• Hire, train and develop a smart, talented team that gets things done
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen our technology platform and QA practices

Skill & Qualifications:
• 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience, preferably on a large-scale enterprise software based products with a global footprint
• 2+ years of people management, with a minimum of 2 direct reports preferred
• Experience leading QA initiatives in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid development environments
• BS in Computer Science, related degrees, or equivalent experience
• Advanced experience with testing automation architectures and tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC, and how Quality Assurance processes fit in
• Experience with SDLC management tools such as Jira, Rally, TFS, Visual Studio Team Services etc.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL and the ability to do some data QA and analysis is a plus
