**This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity that can pay between $80-90k a year. Local applicants only; company is located in Irving near PGBT and 114. Code samples (live or in repo) required.**

One of Vitamin T's long-time clients has an opportunity for a software developer, who will participate in the production and enhancement of their supply chain and/or financial commercial software products. The desired individual will balance the need to develop requirements independently, while also participating in highly visible, cohesive and collaborative teams. Individuals must demonstrate reliability and understand that quality code, meeting delivery commitments, and satisfying customer and product owner criteria are our highest priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop on all phases of the SDLC, from bug fixes to enhancement design and implementation.
• Develop knowledge of company's supply chain and financial products, including architectural concepts, functionality, subject area data schemas, development tools and common customer operating environments.
• Work in a rapid development-to-production release environment of Java based commercial applications.
• Participate on collaborative teams (product owners and analysts, Professional Services managers and technical leads, Agile Coaches, QA testers, UX, and developers) pursuing Agile practices, including Scrum.
• Ensure the quality of the code base through frequent unit testing, code refactoring, peer-code reviews, and the use of standards tools.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience
• 2-5 years Java based development
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
• Highly competent to work independently and effectively manage one’s time
• Strength in object-oriented design and implementation; thorough understanding of Java interfaces and abstractions; application of common design patterns
• Strong database access and design skills, including proficiency in SQL and NoSQL platforms
• Proficiency with application build concepts and tools (e.g., Maven and Gradle)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

Desired Skills:

• Fluent in Java
• Understanding of Groovy, JavaScript and SQL
• Solid understanding of Spring Framework
• Experience with relational databases like MS SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Experience implementing RESTful Web Services
• Experience using Maven and/or Gradle
• Experience using Subversion and/or Git
• Understanding of Test Driven Development
