Our client is looking for a software engineer to work on the CR Global Web Platform. They host a full eCommerce stack in the AWS cloud. Their team supports European and American marketplaces. They're looking for a software engineer with a proven record of hands on engineering. Someone who delivers solutions with the highest degree of quality, accuracy, security and operationally. As a full stack engineer you are responsible for the APIs as well as for the UI / CMS part of the team's Global Web Platform. You work closely together with the Global Transaction Platform as well as the UI team. You are helping growing our global business at an early state.
This role will lead teams to create and sustain the web platform product stack. You will be responsible for guiding and contributing an autonomous teams designing, building, testing, releasing and sustaining high integrity, performant, resilient, and scalable solutions. You will focus on continuous operational improvement, continuous delivery practice improvement, and continuous impact.

General Responsibilities: - Understand your business and technical partners, their goals, their drivers and their needs - Own the edge to edge lifecycle of your technical product – design, build, operate and sustain - Collaborate with business owners to build next generation product - Communicate complex technical solutions to a variety of stakeholders - Continuously improve productivity and sustainability with great coding, QA and Release practices - Research and evaluate technologies that create value for the company - Adhere to information security standards - Coach your craft Common Traits of Successful CarRentals Accelerators - Enthusiasm, Curiosity, Commitment, Self-Control, Optimism, Social Intelligence, Gratitude. Qualifications: Must Have - Bias for action. Bias for data driven decisions. Bias for “test and learn”. - 3+ years of relevant working experience in building and maintaining high-performance, distributed and scalable systems - Demonstrable experience applying rigorous testing, monitoring, regress-ability, PCI-DSS security practices, to create highly availability, reliable and performance software-as-a-service solutions. - Experience constructing distributed systems and elastic design patterns. - Experience designing and implementing SOA patterns, including distributable, elastic patterns. - Experience building sustaining stacks with Ruby on Rails (expert level), Java, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, etc. - Expert knowledge in using modern JavaScript frameworks / single page applications using Ember.JS - Experience with setup, integration with any CMS (Alchemy preferred) - Experience creating easy-to-use, scalable, throttled, secure and automatically testable APIs which edge to edge responsibility for API utilization monitoring and analytical reporting - Experience in test automation, diagnostics automation, and performance engineering practices, tools and techniques (we use RSpec and qUnit) - Deep knowledge in using GIT and branching models - BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent demonstrable hands-on experience - Should be able to travel to Germany as needed - Needs to be available for early morning meetings 7:00/7:30am - Onsite Bellevue HQ preference, but open to San Francisco as well
