Social Media Writer / Content Strategist

Aquent is currently looking for a social media writer and content strategist for one of our valued clients in Charlotte, NC.

The writer will need to have experience writing and editing in the digital space (particularly on financial topics). The ideal candidate is experienced with social media, well-versed on financial topics and able to meet and exceed deadline expectations. Work will include a series of new articles as well as sourcing articles from other publications that financial professionals may share via social media.

Responsibilities include:
1. Developing an editorial calendar of financial topics for social media/digital postings
2. Writing 500 - 800 word financial articles based on agreed upon editorial calendar
3. Sourcing financial articles via pre-approved vendors and other sources to identify compelling articles on financial topics
4. Ensuring that original content as well as content from other sources that will be shared via social media are reviewed and approved by appropriate compliance and legal partners
5. Posting approved articles/content to repository of pre-approved social media posts

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
- Editorial capabilities with keen sense of financial topics that resonate both with financial advisors and consumers
- 5 to 7 years of experience with at least 2 to 3 years of proven ability to edit and write accurately and clearly on financial topics
- Team player who is an excellent communicator and well-versed in social media
- Outstanding time-management skills
- Steadfast attention to detail including graphics that help make social media posts engaging
- Ability to work under pressure and according to strict deadlines
- BA or college-level equivalent. Financial designations such as CFP preferred
