Social Media Specialist

Vitamin T is currently in search of a Social Media Specialist for our client in Warren, MI. This is a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), contract based opportunity with the potential of going long-term.


Act as the public face for clients' corporate social media accounts, including the moderation of user generated content, responding to customers comments, and publishing new content regularly.

Duties / Responsibilities:

-Work directly with client, account executives, legal and content strategy teams to create content calendars, messaging matrices and crisis management plans
-Assist Creative and Account teams in brainstorming sessions
-Identify / work / support influencers and potential brand ambassadors on needed campaigns
-Work both alone / on a team with other Community Managers to publish content frequently, often multiple times daily
-Moderate communities including posting content, moderating user-generated content, responding to content and gathering ideas for client and internal use
-Ensure content is published according to the Content Calendar timeline, that it is free of errors, and appears online as intended
-Work closely with legal to ensure that all social elements and posts are legally approved
-Promote the brand using social and other inbound and outbound marketing efforts
-Address / respond to comments when appropriate to build relationships with customers, and deepen the sense of community / add value to the user’s experience
-Notify IT Department if any technical issues arise
-Work closely with the Social Media Manager to determine permissions for accessing platforms, tools and profiles
-Work closely with their Social Media Analyst, providing additional data for reporting, and use the reports created by the Analysts to aid them in their daily work
-Adhere to the Social Media Policies set forth by company
-Actively participate in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, and commentingY


-Above average writing and communication skills, a willingness to experiment, curiosity and passion for social media
-Attention to detail particularly in posting and responding
-High level of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation required
-Experience managing social media platforms or communities for brands preferred
-Previous agency experience preferred
-Must collaborate with others and work well in a team environment
-Strong Keynote / Powerpoint, MS Word and MS Excel strongly preferred
-Familiarity with graphics software packages such as OmniGraffle Pro and Adobe Photoshop preferred
