Social Media Specialist

One of our valued clients in the energy industry is seeking a Social Media Specialist for a 3+ month onsite role. The candidate will be responsible for: maintaining our social media channels, profiles and subscriptions; managing a content calendar that aligns with corporate objectives; monitoring corporate social channels; responding and interacting on corporate social channels; creating reports to show activity, progress, and opportunities on corporate social channels, working with the businesses and other functions on social media strategies; evaluating and advising on current and upcoming trends and/or new channels; collaborating with the Corporate Web Specialist to optimize social content for search and increase traffic to the website; working with graphic artists and other vendors to create content that can be shared across social and other digital platforms; providing writing and editing support for the company website and other Marketing materials as needed.

Candidates will have strong corporate communications experience (large company) with journalism experience. Candidates do not need energy or oil/gas experience for this role. Detailed requirements below:

- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, PR, or other misc. Corp. Comms

- Excellent writing/editing skills – (samples of a variety of formats needed – editorial, press releases, social posts, etc.

- Experience having worked in a large corporation in Communications in an advisory (not execution only) role. Managerial experience not needed.

- Demonstrated knowledge of social media channels and how to tailor for right message and purpose

- Demonstrated knowledge of social media analysis and reporting
