Social Media Specialist

Social media specialist is responsible for the daily management of social campaigns. This individual coordinates editorial, assets, and publishing across multiple campaign social properties.

Functional requirements
Write and publish engaging and creative copy that is also SEO friendly
Monitor and foster activity on the brand social media properties
Coordinate and publish content for websites via the content management system, including management of user-submitted content (text, graphics, and video)
Identify new content opportunities and ways to repurpose existing content
Assist the management of existing social media sites, including interacting with the social media audience
Coordinate and execute assignments for all platforms throughout the day Participate in editorial planning sessions and provide creative story ideas
Research, report and fact check all content
Scheduling is flexible; however, please plan on up to 15% of weekly hours spent on weeknights, weekends, and minor holidays as necessary


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum two years of professional experience in interactive marketing, journalism, social content, or online content production
Expert writing and communication skills
Demonstrated project management experience, including proven track record in managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting goals and deadlines
Ease with/ability to learn new technology
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Familiarity with social media management systems such as Hootsuite
