Our Client's Publishing team is seeking a creative, goal-oriented and highly entrepreneurial social media leader to join our exciting and fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating the overall business agenda into innovative social media strategies/plans that connect readers with our authors and books, and that bring our client's Publishing group and its host of imprints to a leading position in the book industry. This person will be responsible for building awareness of imprints, promoting and differentiate our titles in a highly competitive marketplace, and growing sales. If chosen you will help create a dialogue with customers to maximize engagement; establish new approaches and leverage new media channels, fully integrating these efforts into the marketing plan.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Strategy and Planning: Develop the long-term strategy and achievable road-map of innovative and scalable social strategies, and ensure integration with overall business goals/strategies. Testing, learning and optimizing new approaches will be of critical importance.
• Measurement: Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of programs, investments and campaigns. Work closely with internal teams to establish testing and learning objectives and partner to execute fully integrated testing plans.
• Cross-functional partnering: Partner with PR, editorial, marketing, site merchandising, and corporate social media teams on content development, calendar and cadence.

Basic Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience leading social media, PR, and/or marketing strategies in a content industry
• Executive-level written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with customer segmentation and designing programs for both niche audiences as well as mainstream consumers
• Experience leveraging Excel and other tools to analyze a business and draw conclusions to support a business case
• Experience developing productive cross-functional relationships in a fast-paced, variable environment
• Exhibits excellent judgment
• BA/BS is required

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in publishing a plus
• Passion for books, and a great appetite for reading.
• MBA/MS/MA preferred
