Social Media Marketing Specialist

We’re looking for an exceptional marketer with social media chops to join our client's Marketing Innovations team in their San Francisco corporate headquarters.

Working closely with our client's internal creative team and external agency, you will develop innovative marketing campaigns across social media channels that are highly targeted and address specific business objectives including acquisition, engagement, and retention. The focus will be on B2C – addressing existing and prospective members in a compelling and relevant way.

In addition to ideation and execution, you will drive, track, and report out on campaign performance and identify actionable insights for piloting and optimizing social media campaigns.

You are a marketer who keenly understands the intrinsic value of social media. Above all, you know how to roll up your sleeves to create innovative, engaging, and best-in-class social media campaigns.

You thrive within a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. You are an excellent communicator with proven experience using earned channels like Facebook and Twitter to build measurable marketing leveraging paid ads, contests, polls, SEO, media buys, targeting and other tactics to propel the business.

Responsibilities:
• Drives marketing activities across social channels with a focus on Facebook and Twitter
• Collaborates closely with Marketing Delivery Leads to develop comprehensive social programs to support key marketing initiatives including Open Enrollment.
• Identifies and pilots opportunities to test and learn
• Reports out on performance of key social marketing programs.
• Supports our goal of increasing positive sentiment across social.
• Partners with cross functional teams including Social Media Community Moderator, Content Specialist, PR, and Customer Support to ensure consistency of messaging, strategy, and tone
• Provides actionable insights to improve existing social media marketing performance and develop new programs.
• Stays abreast of competitor’s online and social activity to identify opportunities and best practices and to help our client track and compare their efforts
• Identifies and bubbles up key opportunities and new ideas to better engage with our audiences across channels to achieve our business goals

Education/Requirements:
• Proven experience leveraging social media for acquisition, retention, and loyalty marketing
• Experience with Facebook Ads Manager and Twitter keyword targeting, re-targeting, paid and boosted ads, and pricing models
• Keen understanding of the different needs of customers within various social channels (Twitter versus Facebook, homepage versus mobile, etc.) and how to best leverage each channel to produce the most effective marketing results
• Insatiable appetite for emerging technology and how to best leverage to market to customers
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
• Results oriented
• Literate with social media tools, techniques, and best practices
• BA/BS in a related field such as Marketing, English, Communications, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
• Proven experience leveraging emerging and traditional marketing channels to support business acquisition, retention, and engagement goals
• Experience working in large, highly-matrixed companies
• Experience driving social media marketing programs
• Experience working with third party vendors and agencies to facilitate program development
• Excellent cross-functional team, project and organizational skills with attention to details.
• Experience in social crisis management process a plus
• Healthcare insurance industry experience a plus
• Mobile marketing experience a plus
• 4 or more years marketing experience

Education:
BS/BA plus a minimum of four years of marketing – at least two of which were directly focused on social media marketing and/or extensive writing and messaging across channels.
