Social Media Manager

Summary
A solar energy company in the Bay Area is looking for a Social Media Manager to serve as the eyes, ears and voice of the brand within social communities. This individual will be tasked with maintaining day-to-day social media engagement, creating and optimizing social content, developing relationships with our online communities and assessing their effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated social media native for whom composing, optimizing and analyzing engaging, effective social content reflecting company voice and culture is second nature.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid social marketing expertise, who believes that social media is one of the best channels to build awareness, drive engagement and inspire others. This is a full-time, on-site contractor role, reporting to Manager, Word of Mouth Marketing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor and manage day to day engagement on social channels, actively engage with communities on behalf of the brand
• Craft & promote creative social content & campaigns that excite followers and gain interest from consumers new to the brand
• Increase audience and drive engagement on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other networks and platforms with engaging content in the voice of the brand
• Design or oversee design of social media assets
• Conduct analysis and measurement of social media content, campaigns and KPIs; provide key findings, best practices and actionable recommendations
• Regularly feed social insights into marketing, communications, product, and service channels
• Stay current on emerging social media tools, technologies, trends and developments
• Identify online forums and other communities where the company can participate and add value
• Help identify and cultivate social ambassadors & influencers
• Monitor and respond to customer inquiries, escalate issues internally in a timely fashion

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, advertising or related field
• Five+ years in marketing and communications with at least three years of proven experience in a social media/Community Manager role for an enterprise organization (in-house or agency)
• Proven track record of working independently and with teams to conceive, create, and execute highly engaging social media content and campaigns
• Active participation in and strong understanding of current and emerging social media networks and best practices in each, experience with response management
• Proficient at running social media analytics and generating thoughtful analysis; experience with SMMTs such as Synthesio & Spredfast and Adobe Analytics preferred
• Experience in SEO/Digital marketing and social advertising preferred
• Proficiency with Photoshop and/or other graphic editing applications preferred

• Highly self-directed and resourceful with ability to think strategically, but also capable of juggling hands-on execution with minimal support
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, challenging and fast-paced environment
• Must have the maturity and confidence to be the voice of the SunPower brand on social channels
• Natural online and offline connector
• Data and metrics-driven
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
• Results-oriented
• Positive and collaborative personality
