Social Media Manager

We are looking for a Social Media Manager for a new digital property surrounding women's sports. This person will oversee the posting of daily content in coordination/planning with the Editorial Team.


This role will work to
1) support revenue opportunities by creating social sales opportunities in tandem with Partnership/Sales team,
2) drive audience to new digital property to increase awareness and usage, and
3) develop innovative tactics that increase brand loyalty and content consumption.

- In tandem with the Director of Social Media Strategy, develop a year-round social media strategy for all of new digital property's social platforms during and outside women's sporting events, maximizing engagement and growth on each platform and strategically driving consumers to digital property.
- Manage posting strategy and editorial calendar around daily publishing of digital property-related content on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and future social platforms. Be the champion of the brand voice across social.
- Work with Partnership and Edit teams to create weekly editorial calendars and timelines, including oversight of digital property event editorial plans
- Work with Consumer and Event Marketing to incorporate marketing initiatives into social content and align content with overall marketing and brand initiatives
- Partner with the Sales and Event groups to create sponsorable opportunities through social media and integrate activations across platforms during events
- Work with Studio and Event Production to create social awareness and engagement and by monitoring and communicating social trends, hashtags, and relevant metrics to feature on-air
- Work with relevant women’s sports brands and athletes related to digital property to cross promote content through social media to further extend the reach of our brand in the social media space
- Oversee the generation of social media reports for all digital property platforms, highlighting metrics and popular content, offering insight into success and opportunities
- Play a lead role within the company to provide insights and real-world findings to other brands and lines of business.
- Manage an event social media team to support social initiatives and content generation and distribution during events
- Research new social media platforms and technology, report findings, and determine potential use for digital property


- Ability to edit both images and video via Mac software in time-sensitive situations
- Strong, proven ability to manage complex social media legal processes for a major business.
- Ability to present findings and recommendations to small and large audiences including executives
- Sports interest and knowledge
- Interest in women's sports


- Highly experienced in using Pinterest
- Photoshop
- Extensive knowledge of women's sports


- Bachelors Degree, preferably in marketing, media, communications
