Social Media Manager

A social media manager is an experienced professional: they run, develop and grow accounts; are a leader in building and delivering business; and help manage financial resources for my client.
A social media manager maintains strong client relationships and takes responsibility for exceeding client expectations in all aspects of the communications program, with an emphasis on the delivery of strong integrated social and PR campaigns. She/he is able to manage accounts and internal programmes largely independently from senior managers.
As a leader in client program delivery, a social media manager demonstrates the ability and wherewithal to deliver on our vision, performance requirements and talent development.

Duties & Responsibilities;
• Manages client expectations and identifies/addresses emerging problems.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key client contacts and ensures that client/consultancy relationships exist on multiple levels and grow over time.
• Acts as the client’s primary contact providing strategic advice, updates on results achieved and proactively actions client requests, emails and phone calls.
• Maintains and grows accounts.
• Provides strategic input into accounts with an emphasis on social media strategy.
• Displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills in the social media space.
• Is a highly capable writer, able to generate a range of materials in a range of ‘voices’ to suit different client requirements and that require minimal editing.
• Is a strong editor of content.
• Has strong knowledge and understanding of social media and industry influencers in her/his practice area.
• Oversees and inputs into the creation of content schedules for all client social channels.
• Overseas and develops creative, strategic and relevant content for all client social channels.
• Oversees the creation of activity reports and monitors campaign effectiveness – using buzz monitoring tools, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Alterian, Radian6 and similar tools.
• Remains current and up-to-date on the evolving social media landscape – and is proactive in sharing news and insights with the team.
• Identifies and pursues opportunities for developing new business.
• Leads growth of existing accounts.
• Develops and directs social media strategies for new business programs and presentations.
• Manages staff to maximize productivity and individual, team and financial performance.
• Holds weekly (maybe more often depending on the workload on a particular client) WIP meetings with colleagues to run through current status and potential business opportunities.
