Social Media Manager

In this 12+ month role, you will manage the program’s social media channels and help execute its social strategy. The Social Media Manager wears many hats, working closely with the marketing team as well other cross-functional partners. In this role you are able to work without much supervision. Attention to detail, resourcefulness, and the drive to take initiative are paramount. ​

Overall Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Social Lead to market and promote products, features, and campaigns related to the program 
  • Develop, manage, and organize the social editorial calendar, overseeing all content including copy, assets, and publishing 
  • Write compelling, creative copy tailored to the community and in line with our brand voice 
  • Liaise with internal partners to source assets including photos, videos, and designs 
  • Engage with users’ content, monitor hashtags, provide support, and escalate bugs/feature requests when appropriate through community management 
  • Assist Social Lead with analytics, tracking audience growth and pulling campaign-specific metrics 
  • Share on-the-ground learnings and trends from our social communities with Social Lead and other team members to inform future campaigns and content 
  • Oversee social profiles; cover photos, profile photos, and other info 
  • Identify and escalate threats and opportunities in user-generated social content surrounding the brand 


Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Concepting, writing, and publishing social media content to Local Guides’ channels 
  • Liaising with designers, internal partners and Social Media Lead to source content for channels 
  • Engaging with community on social channels via community management 


Required Skills: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing 
  • At least 1-2 focused on social media for a brand 
  • Social media copywriting for a brand 
  • Community management experience 
  • Experience working in a social media editorial calendar 
  • Experience with a social media publishing tools
  • Proficient understanding of social media analytics 
  • Experience executing social media campaigns 


Nice to Have Skills/Not Required: 

  • List of extra skills that would be nice to have but are not required to be successful in the position 
  • Experience working with a designer to produce social media graphics 
  • Experience working on a global brand/social media account 
  • Experience growing and nurturing a community on social
