Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator works closely with the Social Media Managers for North America to develop effective social media strategies to achieve the overall goals of the North America Strategy and Marketing group. This person will contribute to the effective execution of these strategies.

The top goal for the Social Media Team is to discover, build, engage and sustain a strong network of influential followers in our target markets, providing an active, accessible online presence and voice in North America. A secondary Team goal is to provide training, education and strategy to the North America organization looking to leverage social media to attain their goals.

Major responsibilities for this role will be supporting Social Media Managers in monitoring social conversations of relevance to the business, developing documentation to support social media strategy for events and campaigns and developing reports that measure the team’s success on the social channels.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (Knowledge and experience necessary to do job)

Related work experience
BA and 3+ years of marketing experience in a professional setting
Strong social media marketing experience required
Knowledge of effective practices for integrating social media across an organization
Experience working on teams
Knowledge of the education marketplace (K-12, Higher Ed, Professional)
Project management experience
Creative thinker
Data-driven professional
Supporting executives and subject matter experts on social media
Development of effective partner relationships on blogs and social channels
Development of effective strategies and programs to support sales on social channels
Familiarity with social media subculture, communities and language

Skills
Self-motivated professional always looking to raise the bar
Energetic team player with strong communications skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work quickly but with precision and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and other team members
Familiarity with social media monitoring & content creation software a plus (e.g. Hootsuite, Tracx, Sysomos, Radian6, Sprinklr)
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps suite
Professional experience in using social media marketing platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
Excellent writing skills
Excellent communication skills
Organized
Interest in and knowledge of the history of the Internet and online technologies
