Social Media Analyst

Our top financial services client is looking for Social Media Analyst to join their team to proactively influence, measure and manage their social platforms. This role is based in the San Francisco area for a 6 month contract role with opportunity to extend. This is an onsite 40 hour/ week position.

This position will involve:

Social Listening:

Collaborate with country & global teams and agencies to develop social listening dashboards that accurately measure social media buzz and provide meaningful insights
Use social listening platforms to produce analytics and insights reports for campaigns, sponsorships, landscape research, brand, competitors, and crises
Strategize with global marketing teams on social listening KPIs and benchmark goals for campaigns and sponsorship
Educate and train teams and agencies on social listening framework, how to use the listening tools, and social listening best practices
Manage our social listening vendor partnership, while keeping current on industry trends, other listening tool capabilities, and new opportunities to expand the listening program

Social Measurement:

Manage goal setting for social performance in markets, communicate goals and measurement process to market partners, and measure and report on performance for marketing leadership and market teams
Train market teams and agency partners on measurement for performance reporting; maintain current understanding of all relevant social analytics platforms; work with market teams to understand their strategies and priorities; incorporate relevant measurement and reporting
Work with sponsorship and campaign teams to set campaign goals and measure performance
Partner with marketing teams to provide relevant performance reporting and support campaign optimization

Other responsibilities:
Assist in developing analytical frameworks to help Marketing solve complex measurement problems
Conduct analyses, translate results into strategic insights, and create compelling presentations that effectively communicate findings to all key internal and external stakeholders
Conduct industry research
Become proficient in Brand Tracking and MROI tools and techniques and guide other marketing teams in using them

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required. MBA preferred.
Professionally qualified with typically at least 5+ years of Marketing, Consulting or Research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in Social Listening & Measurement preferred; research or marketing agency experience is a nice to have.
Ability to take initiative and operate with limited guidance in a complex environment
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present with impact
Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills
Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop quantitative models (e.g. business case and complex forecasting)
Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook and highly proficient with PowerPoint
