The Social Media Advertising Specialist is responsible for managing paid social media ad campaigns for social brands on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and emerging platforms. The Social Media Advertising Specialist is responsible for managing engaging social media ad campaigns by working with the Paid Digital Media Strategist and internal teams (design, copywriting, community management). The Paid Digital Media Specialist segments target audiences, tracks ad bids, A/B tests ad copy and creative, and optimizes campaigns for success - regularly presenting progress and results to department leads and to the client. The ideal candidate understands the unique role that paid media plays in a today’s digital campaigns and how to leverage ad spend to maximize results.

Position Description:
The Social Media Advertising Specialist reports to the Paid Digital Media Strategist, and shares responsibility for the success of our paid social media ad campaigns. The job of the Social Media Advertising Specialist entails activities pertaining to, but not limited to:

Paid Social Media Management:
• Plan, develop and manage paid digital media for Facebook, Twitter and Google AdWords campaigns, YouTube video campaigns, and direct digital media buys;
• Collaborate with designers, copy writers, community managers, digital strategists and other internal staff to ensure social media ads are aligned with the strategic approach;
• Maintain a strong understanding of the relationship between content, targeted to the right audience, in the right channel;
• Generate engagement on paid social media content and drive performance with allotted budget;
• Analyze and monitor ad performance on a daily basis;
• Conduct A/B testing to identify high performing ads and incorporate learnings into future campaigns;
• Recommend and implement solutions for under-performing campaigns; and
• Review and approve digital media buys from media partners with direction from the Paid Digital Media Strategist.

Paid Social Media Reporting:
• Develop custom client-facing reports that assess success of paid social media efforts on a monthly and quarterly basis;
• Analyze results of the report to draft written client recommendations; and
• Collect internal metrics for future strategic planning.

Other:
• Stay on top of leading paid media trends and communicate learnings to staff – develop test plans to see how platforms perform; and
• Other duties as required.
