Great contract to hire opportunity with a national non-profit as a Social Media and Public Relations Manager. Develop and execute social media strategy to convert users to donors
Analyze social media trends and implement specific content and campaigns to increase user engagement
Work with the Editorial Department to create and leverage content for social platforms
Develop and execute PR strategy; including identifying news trends, developing and distributing press releases and media materials, media training, pitching stories and developing media relationships.
Manage advocacy content development for website, e-news and emails
Cultivate relationship(s) with public health/advocacy organizations
Attend media/PR functions/industry functions as appropriate.
Perform other tasks as needed by the Communications department
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:Minimum 5-6 years of experience working in the field of communications, marketing and social media
Excellent writing and editing skills
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with concentration in public relations and communications
Experience working with the media, writing press releases, making story pitches
Organized and detail-oriented
Familiarity with nonprofit organizations, health/advocacy groups, patient audiences
Solid organization and communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Capable of identifying appropriate topics and trends for public relations, communications, marketing or related field
