Site Publisher/ Jr. Web Producer

Site Publisher/ Jr.Producer is responsible for publishing and updating all TV-related web content under the direction of the Executive Web Producer.

This position is critical to ensure the integrity and growth on the Web, ensuring that all content is published and updated according to client standards.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:


• Publish all TV-related content to web, including articles, images, video, and metadata.

O Work with site producers to manage the progression of content through the publishing pipeline, managing hand-offs and publishing schedules.

o Organize all of the content on web into a coherent format, balancing corporate goals, a positive user experience, and the needs of advertisers.

o Publish all content according to guidelines defined by the internal team, recognizing that various templates, content types, and content ownership models may necessitate a range of standards for different content.

o Communicate to all relevant stakeholders the status of content on web site; this may include, but is not limited to, questions such as: what is set to be published? What has been published?

o Update older content as needed so that it meets current publishing standards and has accurate show information; optimize low-performing content as needed so that it does the same.

• Work with internal content management systems to publish and update content in a timely and efficient manner.

o Publish video (including long-form) after inserting proper advertising cue points and promote on the site on schedule (may include weekends*).

o Publish site content in multiple CMSs; associate these content assets to one another to improve user experience and minimize page exit rates; embed content assets throughout website , working with the Executive Web Producer and Producers to balance team needs, advertiser needs, and the needs of our audience.

o Publish metadata for all content, including information that is critical for search engines, making content more findable on website, and making sure that advertising campaigns can be correctly targeted to specific pieces of content.

o Publish and update site pages (including homepage) as needed (including weekends*), to feature new content, update show information, tune-in, so key pages on the site are fresh and accurate.

o Manage cross-links with team as well as cross-links out to other sites and content partners.

o Log system bugs and enhancements as needed, working with internal stakeholders to make sure that these changes are well-defined and understood by all parties before development work begins.

o Coordinate and assist with larger publishing and online projects related to improving the quality of the website under supervision of Executive Web Producer.

• Work with the internal team, Product and Development teams on content migration projects.

o As CMS’s to support the site change, prepare content to migrate and see through to completion (including image gathering, spreadsheet preparation, and soliciting editorial feedback from Producers)

* Weekend work may be done offsite on company-provided laptop, and time spent off-hours may be used for "comp time" during the week.

Education:

•College education from an accredited 4-year school

•2 years experience with online publishing or marketing

•Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and content management systems
•Effective communicator able to coordinate deadlines among multiple stakeholders

•Effective writer able to summarize complex ideas into succinct summaries and descriptions
