Our client is looking for a sharp, analytical, enthusiastic, creative, and results-oriented merchandiser with solid marketing skills to help meet our business objectives and create innovative customer experiences during the 2012 holiday season. Responsibilities include developing and executing bold creative merchandising and marketing strategies, measuring and analyzing the performance of onsite and email programs, identifying new opportunities based on customer and business data, and managing projects that rely on close collaboration with technical and business teams.

Candidates must be: successful both as individual contributors and in a team environment; obsessed with improving customer experience and able to leverage first-class written and verbal communication skills in a data-driven environment; able to prioritize to meet deadlines, manage expectations and dependencies, and analyze data to demonstrate results. Technical requirements include intermediate HTML/XML and the ability to learn in-house tools quickly.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, motivated, self-directed, and willing to synthesize business and customer-experience objectives into flawlessly executed online and email merchandising across multiple store surfaces.

Core duties:
- Coordinate, and execute merchandising initiatives
- Write strong, on-brand copy, including irresistible calls to action for targeted audiences
- Analyze performance of content (including but not limited to website, email, and social media)
- Create features specific to the categories, coordinating content from internal and external sources
- Coordinating with project managers, web developers, vendor managers, designers, and other merchandisers
- Maintain promotion calendar by communicating submission deadlines to vendor managers and ensuring all submission details are recorded
- Execute the promotional merchandising plan, focusing on driving sales via new customers
- Work with Retail categories to execute cross-merchandising programs
- Continually test content and targeting strategies, using results to guide future merchandising initiatives

Basic Qualifications
- Relevant work experience in online marketing and/or merchandising
- Proficient knowledge MS Office
- Intermediate knowledge of HTML, XML
- BA/BS required

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in magazine publishing
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically
- Comfortable with a varied set of software and editing tools
- Excellent project management skills
- Proven track record writing customer-facing content that is on-brand, relevant, and tailored to the internet shopper
- Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with SQL
- MBA or related Masters preferred
