Site Merchandiser

The client's Home Improvement marketing team is looking for a Site Merchandiser to help drive engagement with our business. The Site Merchandiser should be a customer-obsessed, analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic individual who will develop and execute merchandising and marketing initiatives that acquire and engage customers in Home Improvement. This individual will help to drive category growth by developing, executing, and automating customer-centric marketing campaigns across a multitude of traffic channels.

The ideal candidate will be innovative and team oriented and will appreciate a dynamic environment with rapidly shifting priorities. This person must be comfortable operating with considerable autonomy to execute tasks in a timely manner and to a high degree of quality. S/he will understand how their work impacts business goals and will successfully support those goals while protecting the integrity of the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Building and scheduling individual merchandising campaigns across website and mobile devices
• Creating, sending, and owning strategy for mass and automated email campaigns
• Optimizing content for maximum performance through frequent testing and data analysis
• Conducting regular testing of new merchandising tactics, documenting the results and sharing best practices
• Identifying opportunities for content efficiency and automation and working cross-functionally to implement them
• Working with vendors and vendor managers to create on-brand, best in class content, tailored to appropriate customers
• Understanding various levers we have for improving customer engagement and conversion, analyzing current performance on those levers and implement initiatives for improvement. This includes initiatives to improve search and browse experience

Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS required
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in online merchandising, and/or online marketing, or other relevant experience
• Knowledge of Excel and demonstrated experience using data and metrics to measure performance and determine improvements
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot inefficient, unreliable processes
• Ability to deliver on multiple deadlines and prioritize compulsively as a self-directed individual, comfortable with a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Comfortable with a varied set of software and editing tools and ability to learn new tools quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with SQL, databases, and web metrics
• XML/HTML/CSS knowledge: no need to hand-code, but able to troubleshoot and understand the possibilities and limitations
• 5+ years of online retail merchandising, campaign and content creation experience
• Experience managing large scale email marketing programs and writing customer-facing content
• Experience managing and optimizing online traffic growth from multiple sources including, direct, SEO, sponsored links, banner ads, affiliates, mobile, and email
• Experience in tools or home improvement industry is a plus but not required


• What is happening within your team to create this need? Employee going out on maternity leave at some point between mid-January and mid-February.

• What will be the day-to-day activities for this role? Email creation and program management, creation of on-site promos and graphics, scheduling content for the Home Improvement site, and creating audience targeting for marketing campaigns.
