Site Merchandiser

Our team is looking for an eCommerce Producer to help with site production.

Candidate must have excellent editorial and merchandising skills; experience in daily content programming and production; strong editorial judgment and analytical skills; and the ability to balance highest standards for merchandising and user experience and will also support all custom sales packages, as needed.

As a Producer, you must be able to handle multiple editorial and programming responsibilities concurrently, and work well under regular deadline pressure in a constantly evolving environment. You will be expected to work closely with your co-producer and Managing Editor on all areas of the production process for the merchandising pages. In addition, responsibilities include selecting and editing content to run each day; writing and editing headlines/teasers; publishing content through in-house tools; assisting in the development of the editorial calendar; working closely with high-profile content providers and partners; and conceiving, as well as building, special packages with peer channels.

Responsibilities include:
• Article and content builds, QA and seasonal updates (articles, hubs, slideshows)
• Keyword search and refining search queries for article merchandising
• Constantly troubleshooting, streamlining and prioritizing production duties to achieve the most efficient content/partner production process.
• Writing compelling, fresh headlines for the department fronts, and promotional areas.
• Driving content development and promotion of select site areas and features with respect to overall site business goals.
• Tracking and announcing new articles
• Updating the slideshow heroes and promo images, and hub pages weekly,as directed by Editor.
• Performing quality assurance-QA on all final content, including merchandised search results links and image links.
• Creating tracking codes in the link management tool, and recording area code URLs in tracking spreadsheets
• Reporting and tracking content page metrics as needed, for weekly reports
• Monthly brainstorming sessions with Editor to schedule and/or update content

Qualified candidates should have three-plus years of online content development or project management experience, including weekly/daily web publishing and managing projects of at least one month in duration. The ideal candidate has a drive for achieving business results. The position requires excellent organizational, writing/editing, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills and an ability to manage multiple roles, multiple projects, and multiple deadlines are a must. The ideal candidate also has a good understanding of merchandising trends and retail background. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, English or a field related to the subject area. Basic understanding of HTML required; understanding of XML desirable or content submission tools. Ecommerce, online content and merchandising background highly desirable.
