Site Manager (Digital PM)

Vitamin T's client is looking for a digital project manager to join their team for a 5 month + freelance project.

Position Summary
The digital project manager plays a multi-faceted role that combines hands-on expertise in digital content development and production with a proven ability to lead and execute digital design and development projects.
Guided by the strategic direction set by program and services units, the site manager oversees the creation, management and update of a site’s content and other digital media and assets. The site manager acts as both project manager and individual contributor as required to execute complex or longer-duration projects, defining, planning, scheduling and controlling project activities, applying creative and strategic thinking and technical and project management skills to satisfy project requirements.
The site manager anticipates and independently addresses issues as they arise and serves as a point of contact for internal product managers to meet service requirements in an effective and efficient manner with a focus on exceptional quality and execution.
Essential functions
• Manages assigned digital projects to ensure that content is current and accurate, acting both as an individual contributor and by leading or directing the work of other functional staff.
• Accountable for the execution, management, and quality control of multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring client satisfaction, meeting all timeline milestones and delivering within approved budgets; proactively communicates with clients about production recommendations, risks, challenges, and solutions.
• Develops new sites within established technical guidelines in support of marketing and other initiatives, ensuring new sites align with overarching strategic direction; creates detailed project requirements through discussions and meetings with internal project team members across all departments, including functional specifications, creative briefs, and wireframes.
• Reviews and critiques deliverables prepared by team before delivering on to program and service unit project leads.
• Exercises independent judgment and creatively addressing issues and ambiguous situations as they arise to ensure that sites are maintained at a high level of accuracy and quality and support the organization’s holistic digital strategy.
• Employs a proactive approach toward project management, identifying needs that clients may not recognize, ensuring that approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs.
• Collaborates with print production team to ensure that campaign theme is distributed to all campaign tactics.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Three to five years of hands-on project management/producing experience in the digital space. Agency experience strongly preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to lead concurrent projects of varying size and complexity.
• Ability to manage cross functional teams (internal, freelance, and agency staff) in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience managing Web technology, back-end, application and hosting-related projects as well as mobile, social, SEO and marketing campaigns that adheres to common accessibly guidelines.
• Advanced competency in content management systems, productivity tools (including Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Microsoft Project), bug tracking, and wiki and related tools.
• Knowledge and management of all steps required in the creative department and production process from briefs and creative development to QA, tracking, and trafficking.
• Ability to review and critique creative work and to recommend how work should be produced to deliver the best quality product within budget.
• Strong customer service orientation with an ability to clearly discern client needs. Experience in a client services/account management role preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and focus on task completion is critical.
• Exceptional negotiation and issue resolution skills.
• Business acumen, including budgeting, SOW development, and tracking costs.
• Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
