Shopping Channel Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the entire channel in an effort to optimize the online buying experience for Internet consumers, merchants and strategic partners.

Key responsibilities
The Channel Manager will be the single point of contact for the key traffic management processes and will be responsible for the following areas:
• Revenue/budget.
• Drive initiatives supporting shopping strategy and revenue growth, including the development of pricing and packages.
• Establish and track revenue goals against targets in collaboration with the sales team.
• Manage content and production budgets.
• Support the sales team in identifying new revenue streams or advertising opportunities on the channel.
• Develop and implement programs to increase sales through training, marketing activities and promotions.
• Support sales in the generation and presentation of customer proposals.
• Deliver product demonstrations internally and to key customers in partnership with sales.
• Manage all communications to sales to maximize awareness and drive product demand.

Usage/competitors
• Track key user engagement metrics (page views, unique visitors, TTMs, time spent) and develop strategies to grow them.
• Track key competitors to ensure our product remains competitive in the industry.
• Support marketing programs (product launch initiatives, marketing promotions and campaigns) and events (trade shows, conferences, and seminars) where applicable.
• Work with marketing to develop and update product tools including sales guides, brochures, and presentations.
Product
• Coordinate with the partner team to support the local strategy of the channel by working closely with Leads.
• Communicate business requirements and provide feedback to the development teams.
• Ensure global features are localized to ensure relevancy for Canadians where applicable.
• Provide status updates and communicate product roadmap to key stakeholders.
Customer & Partner Satisfaction
• Develop and implement merchandizing practices for specific retail categories to deliver the highest quality of service to Shopping clients.
• Strong client management skills with a focus on ensuring efficient response times, problem solving, creative idea generation and looking for the best opportunities for the clients and retail categories.
• Review qualitative and quantitative end user and advertiser feedback and address top customer issues.
• Analyze, document, and address key advertising customer and partner issues.

Key Accountabilities
• Work with the product team to support the local business strategy of the channel.
• Day-to-day editorial content updates of our daily content throughout our online network.
• Work with freelance writers to optimize content strategy and delivery.
• Sales support (training, regular calls, etc.).
• Merchant satisfaction where applicable.

Key Success Criteria
• Revenue goals met for Shopping Canada properties.
• Page view and/or TTM targets met or exceeded on a monthly basis.
• Pricing and packages rolled out on time for the internal sales cycle.
• Communication to sales remains timely and relevant.

Essential Experience
• The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and French (both written and oral) but we will consider exceptional EN-only candidates that do not have this.
• Proven track record in a portal and/or channel and/or e-commerce and/or online environment.
• Proven track record of being highly organized in an online environment.
• Demonstrated success in meeting page view (or TTM) and revenue goals.
• Knowledge of the retail marketplace, retail selling cycles and consumer buying behaviours is ideal.

Technical / Functional Skills
• Financial modeling, Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Internet measurement metrics including page views, unique users, clickthroughs and the ability to analyze and extrapolate information from said data.
• Knowledge of HTML and an awareness of the latest Internet technologies is an asset

Qualifications
• Minimum Bachelors Degree.
