Shipping Operations Specialist

Our client, a major global e-tailer, is looking for a Shipping Operations Specialist to join their team on a long-term assignment. In this important role, you will support the Transportation team by ensuring supplier shipments reach fulfillment centers on time. You will also follow-up with carriers on any issues that may result in late deliveries. You'll also gain strong company visibility, collaborating internally with the Transportation team, Merchandise Buyers and Planners, and externally with vendors and carriers. You will assist with data analysis to isolate issues in the network, and coordinate the timely resolution of problems as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Data Analysis/Reporting 40%
• Run daily reports to identify potential issues
• Inbound: POs past pickup or delivery window
• Outbound: On-time delivery performance, LTL shipment status
• Conduct audits of site item information to identify and address inaccuracies driving issues in Transportation cost/compliance
2. Supplier/Carrier Communication, Issue Resolution 40%
• Contact suppliers and carriers as appropriate to address issues identified in reporting
• Partner with Merchant and Planning team to monitor high-priority Purchase Orders
• Participate in regular carrier check-in calls to report on issues across the eCommerce site network
3. Data Input/Configuration 20%
• Update critical supplier/item-level cutoff information that informs customer whether order can arrive before Holiday
• Set upgrade rules that ensure customer orders will arrive in time
• Assist with receiving issues as requested and partner to fix issues prior to items being ordered/shipped.
