Our client, a global company in North Austin, is seeking an Austin-based SharePoint developer. Candidate must work onsite, full-time, during regular business hours. This is a long-term, open-ended contract. The candidate for this role must have at least two solid years of experience with customized SharePoint 2010 development (development vs. solely production) and be strong in branding SharePoint 2010 master pages and layouts. This role requires extensive background serving as a business liaison to IT to ensure that SharePoint is properly configured to meet our business requirements. The perfect candidate should be able to hit the ground running.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Share best practices on creating SharePoint sites
• Serve as a liaison between IT and business to convey business requirements
• Create custom SharePoint Forms and workflows
• Create ad-hoc SharePoint solutions as needed
• Design master pages
• Design page layouts
• Create web parts to support tabbed interface
• Customize pages and lists with JQuery
• Create package solutions
• Create custom SharePoint error pages, e.g., Access Denied Page
• Put together strategy around taxonomy and organization of site collections

Other Requirements:
Scope of contract: 1) Experience supporting enterprise intranets and extranets at the global level with SP 2007 2) Understanding of best practices for setting up document libraries, setting up a global architecture for site collections and sites and best practices for establishing site naming conventions 3) Do’s and Don’ts for customizing master templates and experience in setting up page template types for different content purposes 4) How to set up user customization and personalization with SP 2007 (easy migrate to SP 2010) 5) Best practices for SP taxonomy design and implementation 6) Best practices for setting up an SP site registry 7) Best practices for setting up aggregated news, combining internal and external news feeds 8) How to design and build SP intranets and extranets for easy migration into SP 2010 (Do’s and Don’ts on site customization) 9) Best practices for SP content management standards (how to set up workflows, complete lifecycle management) 10) SP 2007 tips and tricks (for example: what web parts are essential, which ones can we remove?) 11) Best practices for managing access to the list.
