Share Point Developer and Technical Writer

Our top client is looking for a technical writer with instructional design and Sharepoint development skills as a contract consultant. This position will be on-site and will require 40 hours of work each week. The position offers w-2 pay and a generous benefits package.

This position will focus on Technical Writing, Online Learning Development, Content Architecture and Strategy, and Product Support; will write and produce materials for a wide variety of projects including end-user documentation for audiences throughout the Firm, and highly technical assignments for an IT audience. Work assignments are mix of routine and non- routine work. Work is reviewed primarily for end results and is performed under general guidelines.

* Strategizing and developing SharePoint (2007 and 2010) sites with supporting documentation based on client needs.
* Writing and producing online help systems (Twiki) and technical manuals.
* Writing and producing online training modules (Captivate).
* Preparing content for websites and newsletters.
* Writing quick reference cards.
* Copyediting printed and online materials.
* Writing business requirements and process documentation.
* Creating test plans, workflow diagrams, and logical data flow diagrams.

Required Skills

*Must have strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and make adjustment to meet business needs. Experience with SharePint is required.
* Experience designing SharePoint sites by taking user requirements and choosing the appropriate web parts to accommodate their needs
* Experience with designing, developing and maintaining SharePoint sites (2007, 2010 and 2013 with and without the aid of Designer).
* Strong project-management and self-management skills.
* Strong writing and editing skills.
* Broad range of technical knowledge and experience with corporate IT systems.
* Ability to learn new technology quickly and easily.
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio a strong plus). * Experience with writing storyboards and scripts for use in online learning. * Proficiency in Articulate or Captivate a plus.
* Experience in HTML, Dreamweaver, Wiki (or a similar tool) preferred.
* Comfort in communicating with staff and management at all levels in the Firm.
* Experience in the investment banking industry and regulatory issues a plus.
