Senior Publications Coordinator needed to coordinate the production of hundreds of printed, electronic, and “new media” communication pieces on behalf of this higher education institution's clients. Within the department, the creative services include comprehensive Web and new media work, as well as the full range of traditional print publishing. These include graphic design/ art direction, brand development, copy writing/ editing, Web development and new media design, photography, print fulfillment and delivery, project consultation/strategic planning and a full range of production services. This is a full-time, onsite role.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, the Sr. Publications Coordinator position coordinates the production of projects (both print and web). The Sr. Publications Cooridinator will handle projects from concept through completion, including scheduling, working with in-house and freelance designers, and providing effective service to clients and related vendors. The Sr. Publications Coordinator will monitor the process of publications projects to assure conformance regarding content, budget and timeline; edit manuscripts and comprehensively review page and printers’ proofs, according to prescribed graphic and editorial standards; and, assist in the production and copy-editing of the annual catalog.

Other duties include:
- Generate and maintain necessary records and correspondence relative to individual projects.
- Use Macintosh computers and related software/peripherals to assist in project management and tracking/record-keeping.
- Work collaboratively with personnel to foster a team approach to project production.
- Oversee Publications Office projects of other staff in their absence, as needed.
- Follow established procedures to coordinate the production of print and projects for organization, including collaboration with designers, related vendors, and clients.
- Meet with client representatives to assist them with project production and serve as a liaison between the graphic artist and client in producing the print or web site projects.
- Oversee production in accordance with established graphic and editorial standards, including organizations identity guidelines and policies.
- In consultation with designers and clients, collaborate in determining formats, budgets, timelines, production, and special considerations for the production of printed and electronic projects.
- Procure services of vendors related to project production: solicitation of printer bids; identification of appropriate illustrators and photographers; selection and scheduling of in-house and/or freelance graphic
designers.
- Edit and proofread university publications. Review Web site editorial content.
- Closely edit and proof manuscripts and page proofs in accordance with organizational style guides: The Chicago Manual of Style or the AP Stylebook and Libel Manual.
- Rework and rewrite copy that is ungrammatical, inaccurate, or inappropriate for inclusion in academic published matter.
- Support the Publications Office catalog project manager by maintaining the production timeline and assisting with overall coordination and communication between faculty and main office.
- Work with all vendors and clients related to production of the catalog, as required.
- Proofread and copy-edit the catalog, as needed.
