Our client, an independent nonprofit organization, whose portfolio has grown over time to include public opinion research; arts and culture; environmental, health, and state & consumer policy initiatives has an immediate contract need (6 + weeks) for a Senior Web Content Producer to sit on-site in their Washington, DC office.

This contract role will sit in their growing Communications Department and will report to the Director of Digital Communications. Candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management of client's external Web site, as well as leading the coordination and production of metrics and analytics reporting for the Digital team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for coordinating, editing and posting of daily material for publication. Work with director, Digital to set content goals; ensures that content follows digital best practices such as SEO friendly headlines and text, timeliness, and relevance.
• Lead collection of analytics across all current websites, as well as all social media platforms.
• Collaborate with video, photo and graphic desks on developing digital presentations such as interactive graphics.
• Draft, edit and refine content from online and offline sources. Recognize, employ and encourage good web writing. Increase the compatibility of client's content with search engines and for web users.
• Conduct digital research by monitoring news, blogs and other consumer-generated media.
• Participate in team focusing on strategic planning for maximizing knowledge resources and internal communications.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred. Experience in advertising, information technology, design or writing is a plus. Minimum five years’ experience.
• Proven ability to frame and draft cogent written messages.
• Strong strategic and tactical Web editorial skills, honed by previous Web site management experience in either the for-profit or nonprofit arena.
• Four years of Web-site management and/or marketing experience. Professional experience in marketing communications and project management.
• Experience working with HTML. Knowledge of PhotoShop, Home Site or a similar HTML editor, scanning software, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, layout software and Web traffic software, such as WebTrends and Google Analytics.
