Senior Visual Designer

The ideal Visual Design candidate has a passion for the end-user, innovation, beautiful & functional interfaces, product identity, and follows a user-centered design approach. This person thrives in a collaborative environment. This person has experience leading sessions with brainstorming and ideation. The Sr. Visual Designer knows how to synthesize output into visual solutions. You believe that the end product is a result of the collective efforts of the project team.

The Visual Designer will be responsible for designing the user interface and effectively applying an established look-and-feel to various digital touchpoints. You are able to work off of whiteboard sketches and/or wireframes to add aesthetics, visual affordances, branding, and emotive qualities that further enhance the user experience. Your job may also include art direction, animation, brand ID, media production, and graphics optimization.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Transform complex ideas and concepts into: beautiful, functional, and surprisingly simple design solutions.
• Validate, test, and refine design concepts by prototyping.
• Daily design iterations with front-end developer and/or UX architect to build progressive, inspiring, and relevant visual design solutions.
• Creation of all digital visual elements, including typography, layout, imagery, and iconography.
• Effectively coordinate with the Product Manager and Design Manager to ensure your designs are consistent with the brand; aligned with other product touchpoints; physical/digital.
• Ensure the visual framework functions successfully for varying technical and performance specifications.
• Develop and maintain visual mockups and layout specifications.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a visual designer working on complex user interfaces for both the web and mobile.
• Experience working in agile/lean UX environments.
• Aptitude to manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Ability to quickly provide multiple options for a given problem.
• Fluency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Solid visual design expertise in typography, layout, color, and brand systems.
• Capable of giving constructive feedback.
• Cultivated skillset to balance the client management experience.
• Exceptional portfolio featuring examples of visual interaction design work. A link to your personal website or web portfolio.
• Prior experience working with retail and/or consumer sites/applications.
