Senior UX/UI Designer

Our top education client is seeking a User Experience Designer for a long term position in the Hoboken area to help develop software products across web, Chromebook, iOS and Windows. We’re looking for people that are passionate about creating a seamless end-to-end user experience across a suite of products. You use data to derive insights and implement measurable change. You are empathetic to users needs and understand how to improve their experience. You are always learning and enjoy pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to build better products. You work well with others and can articulate your findings across different business units. You can convert your quantitative and qualitative research into product concepts and wireframes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Take user interface from concept to completion in ways that engage, attract and communicate accurately as part of a lean UX practice.
● Must be able to design and create solutions that work within the site information architecture taking into account existing interaction patterns and navigation etc.
● Strong understanding of responsive design. Must be able to create design solutions for a variety of device breakpoints (mobile, tablet, etc.)
● Create and maintain user interface design specifications (detailed documentation of interface design, including aesthetic guidelines and screen-level interactions).
● Partner closely with instructional designers, editorial staff, product owners and development teams to ensure an effective execution of design deliverables.
● Interact with development team to ensure successful and accurate transition of user interface designs to production and ensure execution of the final user interface as intended.
● Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS
● Minimum 3+ years experience as a UX Designer and formal design training.
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
● Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images and interactivity impact design.
● Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
● Ability to collaborate and facilitate the visual representation of concepts.
● Candidate should have a willingness to meet aggressive deadlines and release schedules, and ability to prioritize tasks.
● Strong sense of process and the ability to innovate on process tools and conventions.
● Maintains current understanding of advances in design, technology and trends, knowledge of software capabilities and limitations.
● Understanding of K-12 industry.
