They are looking for someone more on the IA side and less on the design side; someone who is okay rolling up their sleeves and going through data, card sorting, wire framing, and focusing on user journeys and discovery. eCommerce background is important because focus is site heirearchy and site navigation.


The Position
The User Experience (UX) Lead will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions that will create a superior online shopping experience. You will drive the UX strategy and leading program activities, from user research and usability assessment, to interaction design and graphics. Oversight will include desktop, mobile and tablet sites, plus mobile apps, for their eCommerce site.

Through constant collaboration and interaction, you will drive UI standards across all customer touch points. You will work closely with many parts of the organization, including merchandising, customer service, engineering, and with the Brand Marketing & Product Management team to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and consistency of customer experience.

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Develop UX strategy to grow brand awareness, preference, engagement, and ultimately increase revenue from both new and existing customers
• Develop and provide thought leadership in the architecture of near and long term user experience visions for features and products across applicable devices and channels
• Scope UX initiatives and manage/prioritize work items; oversee deliverables to ensure that schedule, content and quality requirements are met
• Provide successful design recommendations based on usability findings and standard design practices and partner with Product Management to deliver experiences that drive strong business results
• Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, user flows and/or detailed visual mockups to communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
• Translate ideas and concepts into tangible design solutions and rapidly iterate
• Create functional prototypes and conduct user testing
• Conduct effective research, including user and stakeholder interviews, analytics assessment, and heuristic analysis and leverage all available data and insights to optimize designs.
• Begin building out UX team (internal and external)


Qualifications:
• 6-8 years as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, Experience Designer or similar role
• Expert-level skills in both visual and interaction design for web and mobile
• Hands on experience in managing the UI design process within an Agile development environment
- Prototyping and wireframing tools (Axure, Balsamiq, Invision)
• Experience using common design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Fireworks
• Familiarity with current web development technologies, such as HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and AJAX
• Portfolio or examples of previous work required
