Senior UX Designer

The Sr User Experience Designer partners with Product Development, IT Development, and key stakeholders to infuse the user-centered design perspective into the product vision in order to deliver compelling cross-channel experiences. They translate the overall vision into a creative design plan and execute on that plan.

Responsibilities:
• Create and lead the creation of amazing interaction designs
• Plan for, delegate, oversee, all UX project deliverables (such as strategic vision briefs, concepts, wireframes, etc.)
• Champion principles of usability and user-centered design and know when it's ok to violate those principles
• Partner with internal business clients to make the best work, finding the intersection between business and user goals
• Work closely with other discipline leads to ensure a stellar final product
• Work with research team to define correct research processes, and participate in user testing or fieldwork as needed
• Collaborate with teammates and clients to ensure that the integrity of the experience is maintained through launch
• Represent User Experience in pitch work and business development
• Collaborate with internal Product Owners to create project scopes, schedules, and road maps

Scope of the project:
Works with a multiple discipline team of about 5-9 people on about 3 projects at a time. Works with Stakeholders to define the business requirements and user requirements. Guides multi-disciplinary team develops design solutions and creates design guidelines to support development.

Understands User Experience Design principles and best practices.
Understanding of responsive design and mobile design.

Actively participates in team planning and project definition meetings.
Partners with User Experience, Graphic design and Editorial teams on developing design solutions.
Creating design solutions that support business goals and user needs.
Plans and manages team meetings.
Presents design solutions to department managers, project team, and coworkers.
